Dos Messages for Dos Weeks

Two week's worth of updates from Elder Kraemer... enjoy!

-last week-
Hello All!!!

This has been such a crazy week for me and for all the other missionaries that are here (I would like to formally apologize if I misspell anything, Español is already messing up my ability to write in English and for the craziness of my mind and words while writing this all!)

This CCM is so beautiful and there are so many things I could just type and type and type about. Just know that the weather here is so much more crazy than the weather in Utah. It has rained every day, and there have been a few days with Rain, Hail, Heat, and perfection ALL AT ONCE!!

The plane ride to Mexico was sort of crazy. We ended up having 24 missionaries in the airport all going to the same MTC. Everyone is going all over the world. We first arrived in Mexico and everything was in Spanish! We took a bus all the way down to the CCM and arrived inside in the late afternoon! it was a long day of travels.

I did not have a companion the first day, the one assigned to me must have been transferred to Provo or something, so I was in a trio with the other two elders in my room (4 to a room) and we wandered around like blind chickens for the day. By the next day I was finally assigned a companion, his name is Elder Cutler! We fit really well together and his mission is in the Honduras, West Area! A pretty big difference from Washington DC.

Because I want to just say so much about everything let me just tell you about the CCM and the fascinating things about it so far.

1. They have muscle men in speedos.  Let me clarify what you just read! There is a statue of a guy who is shredded from head to toe that is right outside of the walls of the CCM. Me and Elder Culter were the first people to notice him in our district, and we took the liberty of naming him. We call him Nefi, which is the Spanish version of Nephi.  Because this dude is the man of all men, we decided to name him after the man of all men! What makes Nefi such a big part of our day to day experiences, is that our class is the only class in the entire CCM that has a direct view of him. We get to see him all day long, flexing his muscles.....wearing a speedo! Haha, its pretty funny and really gives this place more personality.

2. The weather here is all of the above.  One minute the weather is blazing hot and the humidity makes everything fun. The next thing you know, it's down pouring. Then back to the heat....next thing you know there is a thunderstorm and hail. Then back to sunny! Me and Elder Cutler were in class and we didn't bring coats or umbrellas. When we went inside it was hot and sunny, and when we came out it was down pouring so badly! We decided to soak in the glory of gods water and then ran home and changed! We were soaking wet!

3. My District is the best!  I am not kidding around, the district that I am in, and the people there are the best! Everyone has such a loving attitude of charity. I am so very grateful for the missionaries they are. including me and Elder Cutler we have 10 Elders and 2 sisters. The best teachers, and Nefi. I am consistently thanking the Lord for the people I get to associate with on a daily basis.

4. This place is amazing and everything is well.  I would like to say that this place is truly amazing. The people here teaching us care for us so very much. I have learned so much Spanish already in this first week. All the Chinese I knew is hard to really recall on because Spanish is becoming such a part of my life already. I love this language so much, and I have never appreciated English so much in my life.

Love everyone please! It is so important. Please just love everyone.

I leave with you today love for you all. I pray for you, I know you. I know God knows you. He loves you all so very much. If he can bless me with the gift of tongues in Spanish, he can do anything!
(I did not spell check this....just work with me, Español is my life)

All the way from Mexico city!

-this week-

So many things! Always so many things! This week has flown by and things don't seem to be slowing down! Our district finished our beginning core and has begun our intermediate core! It's a lot more to study but wow how awesome it all is!

Story time- when this week started we had been studying in our classroom as a district and someone spotted a cockroach! It was huge and it didn't help that this was the first time a lot of us had seen one. We guided it out to the outside or the building. . . or so we thought...Hermana Mason in our district left her coat on the ground and without any of us noticing the roach came back in and found it's way into the coat lying on the ground. When she put her coat on the bug crawled onto her face and she flipped! I mean wouldn't we all!? Moral of the story is be careful write you leave your things!

Today we got the opportunity to go to the temple and it was so cool! The Mexico City Temple is the largest temple outside of the US, and is one of 5 temples that has an angel Moroni holding the golden plates! Such a great experience!

My companion is a little sick, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get sick too because of him, but in the end we do basically everything side by side anyway. Tune in next week to find out if I'm the only one to get sick or if the whole district will get infected!!

Being a missionary is so great! Yeah you work so hard, it isn't always (or hardly even ever) easy, and you take cold showers every day because for some reason the water is broken...its all good! Great things await those who are faithful and trust in God!

Don't forget that those around you are always watching. Be aware of everyone in the room and to always remember this message!

18:10 "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God"

God loves you, people love you, and I love you!! You are of great worth!!
